We’re looking for a Senior People Operations Lead to build and own the operational foundation of the employee experience at MGT. This senior individual contributor will ensure our HR systems, benefits, payroll, compliance, data, and employee lifecycle processes run reliably while building ahead of growth. Partnering with the Head of People, Product, Engineering, and teams across MGT, you’ll use AI and automation to simplify work, create leverage, and shape how people and AI teammates work together as we scale.

What You’ll Do

• Build the systems, workflows, and infrastructure that allow People operations to scale with MGT

• Redesign manual or fragmented processes from onboarding through offboarding, using AI and automation to make them simpler, faster, and more reliable

• Create self-service tools, internal AI agents, and clear resources that give employees and managers timely, accurate support

• Own and optimize our HRIS and People technology stack, including workflows, integrations, data quality, and system governance

• Partner with Product and Engineering to shape how MGT integrates and manages AI teammates and builds effective human-AI ways of working

• Evaluate and implement People technology that creates capacity, improves the employee experience, and reduces unnecessary administrative work

• Turn People data into useful, self-updating reporting on headcount, turnover, compensation, and workforce trends

• Ensure payroll and benefits are accurate, dependable, and increasingly automated

• Build scalable systems for multi-state compliance, required reporting, tracking, and alerts

• Partner with Finance and Talent to maintain accurate headcount and compensation data and create a seamless path from offer through onboarding

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 5+ years in People or HR Operations, with experience building scalable processes and infrastructure

• Hands-on experience using AI, automation platforms, integrations, or scripting to improve workflows

• Experience owning an HRIS such as Rippling, including workflows, integrations, reporting, and data integrity

• Strong knowledge of payroll, benefits, and multi-state employment compliance

• Strong systems thinking and technical fluency, including partnering with Product and Engineering

• Sound judgment in balancing automation, human involvement, and employee experience

• Ability to work autonomously and build structure in a fast-moving environment

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience as an early or first People Operations hire, building infrastructure from the ground up in a startup or high-growth company

• Experience applying business systems to People Operations, particularly workflow design, automation, and systems integration

• Experience building internal tools, automated workflows, or AI agents using platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, custom scripts, or LLM-based tools

• Hands-on experience with multi-state payroll

• Experience building People dashboards or reporting with tools such as Looker, Tableau, or an equivalent platform

• Experience in insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry

LOCATION

San Francisco, CA. This is a hybrid role and requires a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

COMPENSATION

$160,000 - $200,000 annual base salary, plus bonus and equity.
