ABOUT THE ROLE
Novig is growing fast, and our People function needs a strong operational foundation to grow with it. This role owns the core of People Operations: payroll, benefits, HRIS, compliance, and the everyday questions and processes that keep us running. From day one, you'll own payroll and benefits administration, partner closely with Finance and Legal, and run Rippling as the backbone of our People systems.
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Own day-to-day payroll administration for 120+ employees across multiple states, including employee changes, deductions, taxes, reimbursements, and payroll audits
- Partner with Finance on payroll reconciliation, reporting, and reimbursements
- Review employee tax withholdings and payroll tax calculations for accuracy
- Own benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, COBRA, HSA, and 401(k)
- Support benefits renewals, open enrollment, audits, and vendor implementations
- Own the administration and optimization of Rippling and other People systems
- Build and maintain automated workflows across onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee changes
- Maintain accurate employee data, personnel records, and required documentation
- Find manual processes and systematically automate or improve them
- 3–6 years of People or HR Operations experience, ideally in a highly regulated industry, with hands-on multi-state payroll and benefits administration
- Strong HRIS and payroll expertise. Rippling experience is strongly preferred
- Detail-oriented, systems-minded, and responsive, and comfortable owning recurring operational work end to end

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $110k – $140k base, benchmarked at top-tier tech companies
